Entropy

 Entropy

THe Progression of Chaos

The entropy of chaos, creates the entropy of you.
— Lloyd R Shisler
Entropy increases. Things fall apart.
— John Green

In 2018, I sat in my high school physics class where I hardly understood a word and learned about entropy for the first time. As I sat there trying to grasp this “gradual decline into disorder”, I imagined myself holding the ends fo the universe as they continued to expand to a point where I was being ripped in two.

In 2020, the inception my 20s happened to coincide with the birth of a pandemic. Suddenly, it felt like all the political tension and climate anxiety of my youth had exploded into a new narrative that was unimaginable.

Now, in these “unprecedented times,” I felt like I was back in that mental image, these issues I was raised surrounded by growing past anyones ability to control. People kept talking about fixing everything and getting back to how things were, but I couldn’t help but feel like times would never be “precedented” again.

This collection is a manifestation of my mental image of entropy as things spiral out of control. The collection is linear, starting with the first, least chaotic look, progressing into more and more chaos as it continues.
